Role of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and the American Statistical Association (ASA) in Statistics Education

The first half of the talk will describe the role of ISI and the International Association for Statistical Education (IASE). The focus will be on the various activities of the IASE, including its past and future conferences, its new journal (Statistics Education Research Journal) and the recently modified International Statistical Literacy Project (ISLP). The presenter is one of the Vice-Presidents of the IASE. Her areas of responsibility, as one of the VPs, are the oversight of publications and the chair of the ISLP. The second half of the talk will be based on a talk by Mulekar, Haven, and Blumberg at the recent ICOTS (International Conference on Teaching Statistics). This half will describe the various activities of the ASA in statistics education from the elementary school level through undergraduate studies.
